Contract | Night Shift | 3x12 Hours (18:45–07:15) | Every Other Weekend Required | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical/Telemetry unit with a focus on stroke, TIA, and higher-acuity med-surg patients
- Monitor and manage patients with diagnoses including Stroke/TIA, Seizure, Syncope, Pneumonia, Chest Pain, Dialysis, Acute Kidney Failure, Post Heart Cath, Respiratory Failure, Encephalopathy, CHF, and Sepsis
- Perform and support specialized procedures including peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation
- Maintain a strong focus on patient experience and quality outcomes throughout the care continuum
- Float to other units based on census needs, performing only tasks within demonstrated and documented competencies
- Administer and manage medications using the Omnicell medication system
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee
- Minimum of 1 year of recent clinical experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting
- Minimum of 1 year of experience with EPIC EMR
- Current ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS certifications required
- Must not be a first-time traveler
- Ability to work night shifts and every other weekend as required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience caring for adult and geriatric patient populations
- Familiarity with stroke and TIA patient care protocols
- Experience with peritoneal dialysis and continuous bladder irrigation procedures
