Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Night Shift | 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM | Every Other Weekend Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with a 101-bed unit and patient ratios of approximately 4:1 for medical patients and up to 7:1 for behavioral health holds
- Utilize Cerner for clinical documentation and maintain accurate, up-to-date patient information throughout each visit
- Operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors in accordance with unit protocols
- Deliver patient-centered care following AIDET communication standards and respectful behavior guidelines, including updating patient boards throughout each visit
- Demonstrate flexibility to float across all sections within the Emergency Department as needed
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including techs in cardiac monitoring, internal processing, triage, and unit clerks across all shifts
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license with a minimum of 2 years of nursing experience, including at least 1 year in an Emergency Department setting
- Experience in a Level II Trauma Center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ annual visits)
- ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, and NIHSS certifications required prior to start date
- ENPC certification required within 90 days of hire
- Strong teamwork mentality with the ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Ability to work in all areas of the Emergency Department with scheduling flexibility to meet departmental needs
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous experience within an HCA-affiliated facility
- Familiarity with serving diverse, multicultural patient populations
- Experience working in a department with a high volume of behavioral health presentations
