Registered Nurse – IMC / PCU / Stepdown (Neuroscience / High-Risk Respiratory)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide intermediate-level nursing care to a diverse patient population including cerebrovascular accident (CVA), transient ischemic attack (TIA), seizures, and general neuroscience patients
• Manage and monitor high-risk respiratory patients, including use of heated high-flow oxygen and BiPAP devices
• Maintain patient ratios of 1:4–6, functioning within either a team nursing or primary nursing model depending on unit needs
• Collaborate with LPNs and PCTs in a team nursing model to divide workload and optimize patient care
• Float to appropriate units within specialty clusters, including high-risk respiratory and neuro ICU settings, as assigned
• Work every other weekend and holiday as required by unit scheduling needs

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license (any U.S. state accepted; compact license accepted; temporary license available upon offer)
• Documented stepdown or PCU experience with a 1:5 patient ratio reflected in work history (ICU experience does not substitute)
• Ventilator experience required
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Proficiency with Epic EMR
• Must pass an online EKG/Dysrhythmia competency assessment prior to assignment start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience
• IV start certification or demonstrated IV insertion proficiency
