Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough patient assessments and develop, implement, and evaluate individualized care plans across the perinatal continuum.
- Deliver direct patient care in labor, delivery, recovery, and postpartum settings, promoting optimal maternal and newborn outcomes.
- Provide culturally sensitive education to patients and families, supporting health literacy and successful transitions of care.
- Direct and supervise licensed practical nurses, nursing assistants, and other ancillary personnel.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation in the electronic health record.
- Collaborate with physicians, therapists, and the broader interdisciplinary care team, and participate in quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Current New Mexico RN license or active Multi-State Compact (eNLC) license.
- Current BLS, ACLS, NRP, and Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certifications required.
- OPS Emergency Workshop and STABLE certification required within 12 months of hire.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) required.
- Demonstrated skill in all aspects of perinatal care, labor support, delivery, and newborn assessment.
- Knowledge of sterile technique and sterile field maintenance.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- SAFER NM Technician certification preferred.
- Experience delivering compassionate, culturally competent care to patients across the lifespan in a fast-paced clinical environment.
