Registered Nurse PACU

Job Title

• Registered Nurse - Preoperative and Post-Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU)

Schedule / Job Type

• Full-time, 13-week travel assignment
• Shifts: Days, 12-hour shifts, 3 days per week

Key Responsibilities

• Provide preoperative preparation for surgical patients, including IV starts and patient assessment
• Administer moderate sedation and monitor patient responses during procedures
• Manage phase 2 recovery, ensuring safe transition and discharge preparedness
• Perform advanced procedures such as nerve blocks, arterial lines, central lines, and Swan Ganz catheter placement
• Document patient care using the Meditech system
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to ensure excellent patient outcomes

Required Qualifications

• Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Tennessee
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS
• Experience with IV starts, moderate sedation, and preoperative/postoperative patient care
• Ability to work 12-hour day shifts and remain flexible for occasional closing shifts

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in PACU or preop holding units
• Experience in procedures such as nerve blocks, arterial lines, or central lines
• Strong teamwork and communication skills
