Key Responsibilities
- Perform radiographic and fluoroscopic procedures using pulsed x-ray energy, producing diagnostic images for interpretation by licensed independent practitioners.
- Ensure image quality by archiving to PACS, preparing image copies, and coordinating with tele-radiology services as needed.
- Conduct equipment warm-up and quality control checks, report malfunctions and environmental safety concerns to appropriate personnel, and maintain supply inventory.
- Verify patient orders, identity, and history; monitor patients continuously throughout exams; apply radiation protection and ALARA principles; and assist radiologists and authorized providers with procedures as needed.
- Maintain department efficiency by supporting staff scheduling, training new employees on equipment and protocols, and supervising imaging students during clinical rotations.
- Document all patient care activities, incidents, medications, and contrast reactions accurately within the electronic health record.
Required Qualifications
- Associate's degree from a JRCERT-accredited Radiology Program.
- Current American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Registry in Radiography — RT(R).
- Current Commonwealth of Kentucky Radiation License issued by the Kentucky Board of Medical Imaging and Radiation Therapy.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with excellent customer service abilities.
- Ability to operate all radiology-related equipment and maintain continuing education requirements as mandated by licensing agency.
