Key Responsibilities
- Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments in accordance with RN scope of practice, considering patient culture, age, and developmental level.
- Develop individualized care plans, prioritize patient needs, and implement therapies and procedures with clinical autonomy within established policies and professional guidelines.
- Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition to the appropriate members of the care team in a timely manner.
- Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities including discharge teaching and coordination with case management.
- Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of patient care provided by other team members.
- Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and documentation auditing.
Required Qualifications
- Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
- Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with interdisciplinary care team members.
- Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous clinical nursing experience in Labor and Delivery or a related specialty.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
