Key Responsibilities
- Obtain and record initial patient assessments, establishing care priorities based on age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs; reassess patients systematically to identify trends requiring intervention.
- Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized, measurable plans of care consistent with nursing standards; modify plans based on patient outcomes and clinical evaluations.
- Perform Point of Care testing procedures and implement timely, documented nursing interventions appropriate to patient needs.
- Coordinate and delegate team work assignments based on patient and unit needs; follow up on delegated tasks to ensure quality and completeness.
- Participate in patient and family health education and discharge planning.
- Promote a positive, professional work environment; serve as a resource to staff, physicians, and visitors while supporting unit growth and organizational performance goals.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
- Current New Mexico RN license or active Compact state RN license.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association (AHA) required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification from the AHA required.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in Operating Room / Surgical nursing.
- Ability to meet weekend call and on-call requirements; floating to other locations as needed.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Current knowledge and clinical skills appropriate to the age and type of patient population served in a surgical setting.
- Experience in a fast-paced acute care or perioperative environment with demonstrated adaptability to changing schedules and workflows.
