Key Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations of the women's health section of radiology, including quality assurance, preventative maintenance scheduling, and structured audit reporting.
- Perform mammography exams in accordance with imaging department protocols or in coordination with a Radiologist, adhering to ALARA radiation safety standards and FDA guidelines.
- Verify exam orders, confirm patient identity using two forms of identification, obtain informed consent, review medical history, and provide patient education prior to procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records in the EHR, including procedure charging, supply documentation, and prior study availability for Radiologist interpretation.
- Troubleshoot equipment issues and coordinate with service engineers for outside maintenance as needed; operate all equipment per manufacturer recommendations.
- Assist with training and cross-training of imaging staff, support other modalities as needed, and contribute to policy, procedure, and quality improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technologist program.
- ARRT registration in Radiology (R) and Mammography (M).
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, or ability to obtain within 90 days of hire.
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and successfully pass a background check and pre-employment drug screen.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Two or more years of experience as a practicing Radiologic Technologist, including experience in CT and/or MRI.
- Cross-training in additional modalities such as CT, MRI, or DEXA.
- Experience with electronic health record systems including PACS and RIS/HIS.
