Key Responsibilities
- Assess patients to determine mental, physical, and spiritual needs and develop individualized plans of care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary health care team.
- Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care, providing explanations and instructions to patients and responsible parties.
- Apply nursing clinical judgment to recognize and report changes in patient condition in a timely manner.
- Meet Core Measure responsibilities related to patient care and maintain complete and accurate medical records.
- Contribute to a healthy workplace environment by managing conflict using professional communication skills.
- Float to clinically appropriate units as needed, within scope of practice, licensure, and demonstrated competencies.
Required Qualifications
- Current Illinois Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Current CPR/BLS certification.
- NIHSS certification required for applicable unit assignments.
- ACLS certification may be required depending on unit float assignment.
- Ability to participate in continuing education and maintain competency across clinically appropriate units.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in orthopedic, bone, and joint nursing care.
- Familiarity with additional certifications such as PALS, TNCC, or ACLS across varied acute care settings.
