Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Telemetry

Schedule / Job Type
Full-time, Night shifts, 3 shifts per week, 12 hours per shift

Key Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality nursing care to adult patients in a medical-surgical and telemetry setting
• Monitor and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias, manage telemetry equipment, and respond to code teams as needed
• Administer medications, including blood products, Heparin, Insulin, and PCA therapy
• Manage patient wounds, including wound vacs and dressing changes; care for feeding tubes and drains
• Support patient pre- and post-hemodialysis, renal failure management, and ventilator maintenance including BiPAP/CPAP
• Follow isolation precautions and utilize PPE appropriately to ensure patient safety

Required Qualifications

• Active North Carolina or Compact RN license
• Minimum 2 years of experience as a registered nurse in a hospital setting
• Certification in BLS; NIHSS preferred
• Ability to interpret EKGs and manage dysrhythmias

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification
• Experience with telemetry unit monitoring and post-surgical or post-cardiac patient care
• Proficiency in electronic documentation systems
• Prior charge nurse experience and community hospital background
