Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Day Shift (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | 36–48 Hours Per Week | Every Other Weekend Required | Holidays as Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a 42-bed Heart Failure and Stroke unit serving patients with neurological and cardiac conditions, including congestive heart failure and acute stroke
- Maintain a 1:6 nurse-to-patient ratio while delivering precise, compassionate care to complex neuro-cardiac patients
- Collaborate with cardiologists and neurologists to uphold best practice standards of care for this specialized patient population
- Document and manage patient records using Meditech EMR
- Float to other units and facilities as needed
- Adhere to facility dress code (solid navy scrubs) and all applicable clinical protocols
Required Qualifications
- Associate's Degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
- Active Registered Nurse license in the state of Alabama or a valid Compact license (temporary licenses not accepted); must be verifiable through NURSYS
- Current AHA or Red Cross BLS certification
- Current ACLS certification
- NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
- Minimum of 18 months of experience working under the highest level of professional license, with at least 1 year of experience in Medical Surgical/Telemetry specialty
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 2 or more years of nursing experience in a Medical Surgical or Telemetry setting
- Prior experience caring for stroke or heart failure patient populations
- Familiarity with Meditech EMR
