Contract | Evening Shift | 5x8 Hours (3:00 PM – 11:30 PM, Monday–Friday) | Holiday rotation required | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Perform sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with established protocols
- Decontaminate reusable medical devices and instruments following proper safety procedures
- Assemble and wrap instrument sets for surgical procedures across a variety of specialties
- Float within scope to meet facility needs, including potential assignment to alternate campuses
- Participate in holiday rotation as required by department scheduling
- Support emergency response team assignments as needed during hurricane season (June–November)
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 2 years of hands-on Sterile Processing Technician experience
- Experience in sterilization, decontamination, and instrument assembly/wrapping
- Level I Trauma Center experience required
- Active CBSPD and/or HSPA national certification required
- No first-time travelers accepted for this role
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience with specialty surgical cases including Neuro, GU, Robotics, ENT, Orthopedics, Transplant, and GYN
- Prior experience in a teaching facility or Magnet-designated hospital environment
- Familiarity with high-volume, fast-paced surgical services departments
