Key Responsibilities

• Perform and document comprehensive patient assessments, incorporating culture, age, developmental level, risk factors, and presenting complaints in accordance with RN scope of practice.
• Develop and implement individualized care plans, determining desired outcomes in coordination with patients, families, and the inter-professional team.
• Recognize, respond to, and communicate changes in patient condition; initiate actions to alleviate patient stress and discomfort.
• Delegate tasks appropriately and monitor accuracy and completeness of patient care activities performed by other team members.
• Facilitate admission, transfer, and discharge activities, including discharge teaching and coordination with case management.
• Actively participate in unit-based quality improvement activities, including patient satisfaction, fall prevention, pressure ulcer prevention, and CAUTI reduction initiatives.

Required Qualifications

• Active, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of Kentucky.
• Associate Degree in Nursing (ADN or ASN).
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with all members of the care team.
• Ability to assess age-specific patient safety needs and implement appropriate safety measures.
• Proficiency with or ability to be trained on relevant computer systems and applications.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Previous nursing experience in an ICU or acute care setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
