Ultrasound / Vascular Technologist (Dual Certified)

Contract | Night Shift | Onsite | Variable scheduling including evenings, weekends, and shared call as needed
Key Responsibilities
- Perform diagnostic ultrasound and vascular studies independently with minimal supervision, ensuring all procedures are completed accurately and within the required timeframe
- Make pertinent clinical observations regarding patient condition, anatomy, and abnormalities, and present concise medical histories to physicians
- Demonstrate initiative to identify unsuspected anomalies beyond the scope of requested procedures
- Maintain and monitor imaging equipment valued at approximately $700,000, ensuring proper usage and economic management of supplies
- Collaborate frequently with physicians, nursing personnel, and radiology staff regarding procedure protocols, patient preparation, scheduling, and case histories
- Respond to disaster situations as required and maintain a satisfactory attendance record
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Allied Health program (Radiologic Technology, Nuclear Medicine, Registered Nursing) or an accredited Ultrasound program
- Current registration as a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (ARDMS)
- Current registration as a Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT)
- Minimum of 5 years of recent, strong, and independent Ultrasound/Vascular experience
- Considerable knowledge of human anatomy with the ability to make reliable clinical judgments
- Ability to handle stress, interruptions, and time-sensitive decisions while maintaining accuracy
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working with PACS hardware including document scanning
- Familiarity with radiology computer terminals and laser printing systems used in imaging environments
- Experience operating a broad range of vascular and ultrasound equipment and accessories
