Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (6:45 AM – 7:15 PM, 3x12-hour shifts) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in an Intermediate Care / Progressive Care / Stepdown unit setting within an acute care hospital environment
• Monitor and interpret cardiac telemetry on the unit; recognize and manage dysrhythmias and respond appropriately using Rapid Response Teams
• Manage patients with complex cardiovascular, neurological, respiratory, orthopedic, and gastrointestinal needs including post-surgical and post-procedural care
• Administer and titrate cardiac and vasoactive drips; manage heparin protocols, PCA, and procedural sedation
• Perform and oversee IV therapy including central line care, PICC line management, arterial line management, port access, and blood product administration
• Provide respiratory support including management of ventilated patients, tracheostomy care, chest tubes, CPAP/BiPAP, HFNC, and ABG interpretation

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license in hand at time of submission (pending licensure not accepted)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in a Telemetry, Neuro Stepdown, PCU, DOU, IMC, or Stepdown setting
• Current BLS certification (AHA or Red Cross accepted; RQI cards not accepted)
• Current NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS) certification
• Demonstrated experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and emergency response
• Proficiency in wound care, isolation precautions, and a broad range of clinical skills including sheath removal, TR band, feeding tube management, and pre/post hemodialysis care

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Current ACLS certification
• Experience with Cerner electronic health records
• Teaching hospital and/or Level I Trauma Center experience
