Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Medical Surgical unit within a community hospital setting
• Manage admissions from the OR, ED, and ICU/PCU downgrades, with an average of 8–12 admits per 24-hour period
• Maintain a target patient ratio of 5:1, with potential flex to 6:1 as unit needs require
• Participate in every-other-weekend (EOW) coverage as required
• Float as needed to accept Medical Surgical patients in ICU/PCU or ED hold areas
• Provide charge nurse coverage as applicable per unit staffing model

Required Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered Registered Nurse license for the state of Indiana — must be in hand prior to start date
• Minimum of 2 years of Medical Surgical nursing experience
• Current BLS certification — must be in hand at time of submission
• Graduation from a nursing program accredited by ACEN or CCNE
• Must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays
• Non-local candidates only; Indiana residents are not eligible for this position

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIHSS certification preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience in a Medical Surgical setting
• Familiarity with high-volume admission environments in a community hospital
