Electroencephalogram (EEG) Technician – Travel Contract

Contract | Travel | Full-Time | Days | 4 x 10-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 5:30 PM) | 13-Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Performs technically proficient 2D, M-mode, and Doppler cardiac echocardiographic exams on adult and pediatric patients
- Coordinates activities with interrelated hospital departments, including scheduling exams, transporting patients, and ensuring accurate billing information entry
- Assists cardiologists during exam dictation by preparing and measuring M-modes and providing pertinent diagnostic information
- Responds to patient needs during exams and reports changes in patient condition to the physician or nurse in charge
- Maintains quality control of equipment operation and examination quality; coordinates repair services as needed
- Logs patients and exams, files patient records, manages echo supply orders, and maintains clean and stocked exam rooms
Required Qualifications
- A.R.D.M.S. / CCI registered or registry eligible, or comparable national accreditation required
- Active State of New Mexico Echo Sonographer License required
- BLS certification issued through the American Heart Association required
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively across multiple disciplines
- Manual dexterity sufficient to perform echocardiographic procedures
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Two or more years of active echocardiogram experience preferred
- Completion of a two-year allied health education program in a patient-care-related field (e.g., diagnostic medical sonography, radiologic technology, respiratory therapy, or nursing) preferred
- Experience participating in Performance Improvement activities at the departmental or hospital-wide level
