Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit setting with a targeted patient ratio of 1:2
• Manage and monitor patients on telemetry, drips, and mechanical ventilators
• Operate and monitor advanced hemodynamic devices including Impella, Pulmonary Artery Lines, Swan-Ganz catheters, and thermodilution PA catheter monitoring
• Care for pre- and post-cardiac catheterization and intervention patients, as well as post-cardiac surgery patients including those arriving directly from the OR
• Perform arterial line management, draw ABGs, manage sheaths, and oversee dialysis as applicable
• Float within specialty clusters or to nearby facilities as directed, and maintain availability for every other weekend and holiday

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 1 year of dedicated CVICU experience required
• Active RN license in any U.S. state or a valid compact nursing license (Ohio license not required at time of signing)
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
• NIHSS certification required; must be able to read and interpret cardiac rhythm strips
• Experience with A-lines, mechanical ventilators, vasoactive drips, sheaths, dialysis, and ABG draws
• Epic EMR proficiency required; must pass an online EKG/dysrhythmia competency assessment prior to assignment start

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Level 1 Trauma center experience preferred
