Contract | Nights (4x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Assignment
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct patient care on a Neurology unit with a focus on general medicine and neurological diagnoses
- Maintain a 1:6 patient ratio while applying a teamwork-based approach to patient care with a strong emphasis on patient safety
- Utilize facility systems including Pyxis for medication management, EPIC for documentation, and SBAR for communication
- Fulfill weekend shift requirements, averaging every other weekend (5–6 weekend shifts per contract period)
- Float to other units as needed; travelers are expected to float first
- Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments; contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state
- Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
- Current ACLS and BLS certifications
- Must pass EKG testing prior to start
- Ability to work 36 or 48 hours per week as assigned
- Open to floating within and near the facility per unit needs
Preferred Experience / Skills
- NIH Stroke Scale certification or experience
- Prior neurology nursing experience strongly preferred
- Experience in or willingness to learn the charge nurse role
