Contract | Nights (4x12-hour shifts, 6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Onsite | 13–26 Week Assignment

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a Neurology unit with a focus on general medicine and neurological diagnoses
• Maintain a 1:6 patient ratio while applying a teamwork-based approach to patient care with a strong emphasis on patient safety
• Utilize facility systems including Pyxis for medication management, EPIC for documentation, and SBAR for communication
• Fulfill weekend shift requirements, averaging every other weekend (5–6 weekend shifts per contract period)
• Float to other units as needed; travelers are expected to float first
• Participate in Storm Team and/or Hurricane Team assignments; contract staff may be required to report during catastrophic events, mass casualty incidents, or disasters

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in North Carolina or a Compact state
• Minimum of 2 years of RN experience required
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Must pass EKG testing prior to start
• Ability to work 36 or 48 hours per week as assigned
• Open to floating within and near the facility per unit needs

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NIH Stroke Scale certification or experience
• Prior neurology nursing experience strongly preferred
• Experience in or willingness to learn the charge nurse role
