Contract | Full-Time | Onsite | Days | Three 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM–7:00 PM or 10:00 AM–10:00 PM) | Every 3rd Weekend Required

Key Responsibilities

• Plans, implements, and evaluates all levels of patient care across the age continuum from pediatric to geriatric, performing age-appropriate assessments to ensure safe and effective care.
• Performs triage using the Emergency Severity Index (ESI) 5-level triage process and coordinates care needs for multiple patients simultaneously to optimize patient flow.
• Documents all nursing care using medical terminology, maintaining an ED record that is medically and legally acceptable and reflective of patient responses to care.
• Monitors life support and automated technical equipment; performs routine and complex treatments including medication administration, IV insertion, administration of fluids and blood products, and emergency resuscitation protocols.
• Collaborates with providers, peers, ancillary departments, and outside agencies to deliver efficient and high-quality patient care, utilizing chain of command when appropriate.
• Assesses patient and family knowledge and discharge needs, participates in professional development activities, and completes all required education and in-services within designated timeframes.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum two-year degree in nursing required.
• Must hold and maintain a Wisconsin Registered Nurse license or active Compact Licensure.
• Current BLS, ACLS, PALS, and TNCC certifications required.
• Minimum of 2 years of Emergency Room nursing experience required.
• Exceptional accuracy and attention to detail required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Four-year degree in nursing preferred.
• ATCN certification preferred.
• Demonstrated proficiency in computerized patient documentation systems.
