Sterile Processing Technician

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Evening Shift (5x8 Hours, 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM)

Key Responsibilities

  • Decontaminate, inspect, assemble, and sterilize surgical instruments and equipment in accordance with established protocols
  • Prepare and distribute sterile instrument trays and supplies to the operating room and other clinical areas
  • Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes and equipment maintenance
  • Operate and monitor sterilization equipment to ensure proper function and compliance with safety standards
  • Adhere to infection control policies and regulatory requirements throughout all sterile processing activities

Required Qualifications

  • Active CBSPD or IAHCSMM certification required
  • Prior experience in an acute hospital operating room (OR) setting required
  • Strong knowledge of sterile processing techniques, decontamination, and sterilization standards

Preferred Experience / Skills

  • Experience working in a high-volume surgical services environment
  • Familiarity with instrument tracking systems and sterilization documentation practices
