Registered Nurse (RN) – LTAC / Medical-Surgical

Contract | Nights | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:30 AM) | Onsite | Every other weekend required; holiday rotation required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 10-bed LTAC/Medical-Surgical unit with a 1:5 nurse-to-patient ratio, managing diagnoses including respiratory failure, post-surgical recovery, wound care, post-CVA, post-trauma, and cardiac conditions
• Perform and manage PEG tube care and feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline usage and maintenance, and tracheostomy patient care
• Titrate drips including Heparin as required per patient care protocols
• Collaborate with respiratory therapy for patients on ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, and high-flow oxygen; troubleshoot respiratory equipment as needed
• Monitor telemetry in coordination with monitor technicians stationed in the ICU; interpret telemetry strips as needed
• Float to ICU (qualified Medical-Surgical nurses) or Acute Rehabilitation unit as operationally required

Required Qualifications

• Active Illinois RN license, or confirmation that the IL licensure application process has been initiated
• Current BLS certification
• Experience with PEG tube care/feedings, CVC/PICC/Midline care, and tracheostomy patients
• Ability to titrate IV drips including Heparin
• Must pass a drug screen; facility maintains a drug-free campus policy

Preferred Experience / Skills

• ACLS certification (preferred but not required)
• Prior experience in LTAC, Medical-Surgical, or ICU settings
• Familiarity with housewide telemetry monitoring systems
