Contract | Travel | 13-Week Assignment | Nights | Friday–Sunday 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM | Onsite
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine and advanced CT and X-ray imaging procedures for walk-in patients in a freestanding emergency department setting (no ambulance transport, no needle procedures, no fluoroscopy)
- Ensure completed exams are accurately scanned and stored in PACS; serve as a PACS Superuser and follow downtime procedures as needed
- Troubleshoot basic equipment maintenance issues and report malfunctions to appropriate personnel with proper follow-up
- Adapt patient assessment and care methods to accommodate the unique physical, psychosocial, cultural, and age-specific needs of each patient
- Participate in quality assurance, ongoing education, and technical advances within scope of licensure
- Ensure compliance with all applicable state, federal, and facility policies, procedures, and standards of care
Required Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Radiology Technology program or equivalent
- ARRT certification in Radiography (R) or Nuclear Medicine Technology (ARRT or NMTCB) required
- ARRT or NMTCB certification in Computed Tomography (CT) required
- Texas state licensure as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) issued by the Texas Medical Board required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required — American Heart Association only
- Minimum 1 year of CT experience in a hospital or clinical setting
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Prior experience in a freestanding or hospital-based emergency department imaging environment
- Familiarity with PACS systems and image archiving workflows
- Basic computer proficiency and comfort with electronic health record systems
