Role Details

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide IEP-based speech and language services to students with communication disorders.
• Plan, develop, and deliver therapy sessions tailored to individual student needs.
• Conduct assessments and evaluations to identify speech/language concerns.
• Develop and track progress on IEP goals, ensuring compliance with district and state guidelines.
• Participate in team meetings, including IEP meetings, and collaborate with teachers, parents, and other staff.
• Provide training and support to school staff on communication strategies and interventions.
• Maintain detailed documentation and records for all therapy sessions and evaluations.
• Supervise SLP assistants as assigned, ensuring quality service delivery.

What We’re Looking For

• Education: Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or beyond.
• Licensure: DC Department of Health SLP License.
• Certification: ASHA Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC).
• Experience: At least 1+ year of supervised clinical experience, preferred in urban and diverse settings.
• Prior teaching experience is a plus, especially with ethnically and linguistically diverse student populations and children with developmental differences.
• Knowledge of assessment tools, therapy strategies, and behavior management techniques.
• Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines.
