Registered Nurse – Medical Surgical / Telemetry (Oncology)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a mixed-acuity PCU and Medical Surgical Telemetry unit serving medical oncology patients with a variety of diagnoses including solid tumors and blood cancers
• Monitor patients using GE B450 telemetry system and operate equipment including Alaris pumps, PCA pumps, bladder scanners, and continuous bladder irrigation devices
• Maintain a strong focus on infection prevention protocols and patient fall prevention measures
• Float to units of equivalent or lower acuity level as required based on staffing needs
• Adhere to shift scheduling as assigned each 4-week scheduling period, which may include days, nights, or a combination of both

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 2 years of inpatient nursing experience required
• Valid RN license – compact or Ohio state license must be in hand at time of submission
• Nursing education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification required
• 2 professional references required; at least 1 must be from a manager, director, or formal leadership capacity

Preferred Experience / Skills

• 2 years of oncology nursing experience preferred, though not required
• Previous travel nursing experience preferred
• Chemotherapy competency is not required; training opportunities are available for interested candidates
