Key Responsibilities
- Assess, evaluate, and develop individualized physical therapy treatment plans in consultation with physicians, serving patients across the pediatric to geriatric spectrum.
- Administer physical therapy treatments including manual exercises, traction, hydrotherapy, ultrasound, and other physical agents; direct treatments performed by aides, technicians, and assistants.
- Instruct and assist patients in performing physical activities, ambulatory functional activities, daily-living activities, and the use of assistive and supportive devices.
- Evaluate patient progress and the fit of prosthetic and orthotic devices; recommend adjustments and modifications as needed.
- Complete discharge planning in collaboration with the interdisciplinary care team and design home exercise programs for patients, families, and caregivers.
- Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of patient care services in patient and department records.
Required Qualifications
- Active Physical Therapy license issued by the State of Colorado.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Knowledge of principles, methods, and procedures for diagnosis, treatment, and rehabilitation of physical dysfunctions.
- Strong understanding of human behavior, individual differences, and patient assessment and treatment approaches.
- Ability to provide quality customer and personal services, including needs assessment and evaluation of patient satisfaction.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience developing and conducting in-service training programs for therapy staff.
- Familiarity with outpatient rehabilitation settings and outpatient care protocols.
- Experience contributing to patient care conferences and interdisciplinary team collaboration.
