Key Responsibilities

• Perform histological procedures to prepare surgical specimens for diagnostic pathology
• Identify, embed, cut, and mount tissue specimens in accordance with established policies and procedures
• Perform H&E staining and cover slipping of all tissue specimens
• Prepare frozen sections and perform special histochemical procedures
• Support surgical and autopsy pathology processes within the histology department
• Utilize departmental resources and techniques effectively to maintain quality and efficiency

Required Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited one-year histology program
• Histotechnician (HT) or Histotechnologist (HTL) certification required
• ASCP registration required
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in histology
• Knowledgeable in all aspects of histology department operations, including surgical and autopsy pathology
• Basic computer skills required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Broad experience across multiple histological techniques and special histochemical procedures
• Familiarity with frozen section preparation in a clinical or hospital laboratory setting
