Contract | Night Shift (with possible varied day and night shifts as needed)

Key Responsibilities

• Assess and monitor the physical status of patients, correlating physician orders to diagnosis and laboratory values.
• Initiate and direct individualized plans of care based on identified medical and nursing diagnoses, consistent with established standards of care.
• Effectively manage patient admissions, transfers, and discharges.
• Document patient care on clinical records accurately and concisely, including initial assessments, pertinent changes, and at minimum every two hours.
• Coordinate with other departments and ancillary personnel to promote a safe environment and a high standard of quality care.
• Consistently follow established safety and infection control procedures, intervening in unsafe situations as needed.

Required Qualifications

• Active State of California Registered Nurse license.
• American Heart Association or American Red Cross BLS certification required.
• ACLS certification required.
• PALS or ENPC certification required.
• Minimum of four years of Emergency Room nursing experience.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification preferred.
• Experience anticipating potential patient care problems and adapting effectively to unit changes.
