Art Teacher – Language Literacy Academy for Learning

Position Summary
The Art Teacher is responsible for providing engaging and creative art instruction that supports students' academic, social, and emotional development. The teacher fosters a positive classroom environment where students can explore artistic expression while building confidence, creativity, and critical thinking skills.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver age-appropriate art lessons aligned with school curriculum and student needs.
• Teach a variety of art techniques, materials, and creative processes.
• Create a safe, organized, and inclusive classroom environment.
• Encourage creativity, self-expression, and appreciation of the arts.
• Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse learning needs of students.
• Assess student progress and maintain accurate records.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and families to support student success.
• Maintain art supplies, equipment, and classroom organization.
• Participate in faculty meetings, professional development, and school events as required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Art Education or a related field.
• Valid state teaching certification (or eligibility) preferred.
• Experience working with school-aged children, including students with diverse learning needs, is preferred.
• Strong classroom management, communication, and organizational skills.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to supervise students in classroom and school settings.
