Travel RN – Emergency Room

Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Days (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned Emergency Room patients
• Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments
• Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice
• Document patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner
• Assess patient and family learning needs; provide education and identify appropriate resources
• Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license
• Minimum of 1 year of Emergency Room nursing experience
• BLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association only)
• PALS certification (American Heart Association only)
• TNCC certification

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred
• Experience with high-acuity patients including stroke, STEMI, MVC trauma, psychiatric, geriatric, and pediatric populations
• Familiarity working in a high-volume emergency department environment with trauma and fast-track capabilities
