Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Onsite | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Projected Start: August 10, 2026
Key Responsibilities
- Provide routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process, including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation for assigned patients in a high-volume emergency department setting.
- Administer medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitor for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
- Address complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
- Document patient history, symptoms, medications administered, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
- Assess learning needs and provide education to patients, family members, and caregivers; identify issues and connect with appropriate resources.
- Make appropriate assignments and delegate to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in the state of Texas or a compact state license.
- Minimum 1 year of experience in an emergency room or related nursing specialty.
- BLS certification (American Heart Association only).
- ACLS certification (American Heart Association only).
- PALS certification (American Heart Association only).
- TNCC certification required.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Experience with high-acuity patients including stroke, STEMI, MVC trauma, psychiatric, geriatric, and pediatric populations.
- Familiarity working in a trauma bay environment with cath lab support.
