Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity Labor and Delivery nursing care in a high-volume unit averaging 500–600 deliveries per month across 31 beds
- Function as Baby Nurse during delivery, providing continuous newborn care including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments until transfer to postpartum
- Circulate in the operating room for obstetric surgical cases across 4 ORs
- Administer and monitor high-risk medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Perform electronic fetal monitoring and document care using EPIC
- Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, including sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care, as needed
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license; compact license must be valid and in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 3 years of Labor and Delivery experience in a high-acuity, high-volume environment (5 years strongly preferred, with high-risk experience)
- Demonstrated ability to circulate in the OR and provide full newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K, and newborn assessments — hard stop requirement
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required
- Proficiency with EPIC and electronic fetal monitoring
- Ability to work every other weekend and holidays as needed; must commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ACLS certification preferred
- AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
- Experience caring for midwifery clients, high-risk OB patients, and patients in substance recovery programs
