Key Responsibilities
- Provide high-acuity Labor and Delivery nursing care in a high-volume unit averaging 500–600 deliveries per month across 31 rooms
- Function as Baby Nurse during delivery and continue newborn care — including eye prophylaxis, Vitamin K injections, and newborn assessments — until transfer to postpartum
- Circulate in the OR setting (4 operating rooms on unit)
- Administer and monitor high-risk medications including Heparin, Insulin, and Magnesium Sulfate
- Utilize electronic fetal monitoring and EPIC electronic health record system
- Float to Postpartum and Antepartum units, and potentially to sister facilities providing Mother/Baby care, as needed
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 3–5 years of Labor and Delivery RN experience, with at least 2 years in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment
- Demonstrated high-risk Labor and Delivery experience is required
- Must be able to circulate in the OR and provide full newborn care including eyes, Vitamin K (thighs), and newborn assessments
- Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Current BLS and NRP certifications required (proof required at submission)
- Must pass clinical review; current Nursys verification required
Preferred Experience / Skills
- 5 or more years of high-risk Labor and Delivery experience strongly preferred
- ACLS certification preferred
- AWHONN Advanced or Intermediate Fetal Monitoring certification preferred
- Experience with midwifery clients, private OB practices, and community care populations
