Contract | Days | Full-Time | Onsite | 4-Week Travel Assignment | Primarily 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM with occasional 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Perform gross examination and dissection of small biopsies and large or complex surgical pathology specimens
- Provide macroscopic descriptions of gross anatomic features and section surgical pathology specimens
- Prepare tissue for histological processing and manage specimen receipt, identification, and labeling
- Conduct gross and microscopic photography and image analysis
- Obtain and review relevant patient clinical information including scans, X-rays, and laboratory results
- Document findings accurately using EPIC electronic medical record system
Required Qualifications
- Master's degree in Pathologists' Assistant or related field
- Minimum 2 years of hospital clinical laboratory experience
- Hands-on surgical pathology experience
- Proficiency with EPIC electronic medical record system
- Active New York state license in hand or confirmed estimated issue date at time of placement
- Ability to provide two managerial references and a hard copy of license or certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- ASCP or ASCP-PA certification
- Experience with image analysis systems and gross/microscopic photography workflows
- First-time travelers are welcome to apply
