Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to postpartum mothers and newborns in a Mother/Baby unit
- Monitor and assess maternal and neonatal health status throughout the postpartum period
- Educate patients and families on newborn care, breastfeeding, and postpartum recovery
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately in the medical record
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license valid in the state of Texas or compact licensure eligibility
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Mother/Baby or Postpartum nursing setting
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM)
- Compliance with all facility health and credentialing requirements for travel staff
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience working in a high-volume Mother/Baby or Labor and Delivery unit
- Prior travel nursing experience in a postpartum or women's health specialty
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems
