Contract | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Some Weekend Shifts Required
Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care to high-risk labor and delivery patients, including those with pre-eclampsia, diabetes, and multiple gestations
- Manage active labor patients including induction, augmentation, VBAC/TOLAC, and maternal emergencies
- Care for antepartum patients at ratios of 1:2 (labor) and 1:3 (antepartum)
- Float between units within the facility as needed
- Document patient care accurately using Epic electronic health records
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license; compact license must be in hand at time of submission
- Minimum of 1 year of Labor and Delivery experience in an acute care setting
- Experience with high-risk L&D including antepartum, pre-eclampsia, VBAC/TOLAC, and maternal emergencies
- Proficiency with Epic charting system
- Ability to commit to working 3 of 5 designated holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility to qualify as a traveler
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a short-term acute care hospital, Level II Trauma Center, or teaching hospital environment
- Familiarity with induction and augmentation protocols in a high-volume L&D setting
