Key Responsibilities

• Utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, evaluate, and document individual patient needs, actions taken, and patient responses.
• Ensures safe, effective, patient-centered, timely, efficient, and equitable care for an assigned group of patients during a shift.
• Administers medications and treatments as prescribed by physician or standard protocols and documents according to policy.
• Coordinates patient care through collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team, including initiating and documenting appropriate protocols and standards of care.
• Identifies and addresses patient and family learning and discharge needs upon admission and throughout the episode of care.
• Provides clinical supervision of LPNs and non-licensed assistive personnel; may be required to float between departments or local locations within 20 miles.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum two (2) years of current experience in a large Operating Room setting.
• Must be able to scrub.
• Must have successfully completed at least one 13-week travel assignment.
• Associates Degree in Nursing (ADN) or Associate of Science in Nursing (ASN) required.
• Active State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required.
• BLS certification required; must be completed through American Heart Association, American Health and Safety, or American Red Cross.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience with Epic EMR preferred; on-site training available.
• Orthopedic, EENT, and/or vascular surgical experience is a plus.
• PALS and/or ACLS certification preferred.
