Surgical Technologist – OR / Surgical Tech (CVOR Focus)

Contract | Days | 3x12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM) | Weekdays with On-Call Requirements | Guaranteed 32–40 Hours per Week

Key Responsibilities

• Scrub and/or circulate in a 14-room operating suite with an average daily census of 25 cases
• Perform equipment documentation in accordance with facility and surgical standards
• Support cardiovascular surgical procedures including but not limited to Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, Mitral Valve Replacement, Carotid Endarterectomy, and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair
• Assist with general, endoscopic/laparoscopic, and thoracic surgical cases
• Participate in on-call rotation, including occasional weeknight call (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) and one weekend per month (call only Saturday and until 11:00 PM Sunday)
• Operate and manage specialty surgical equipment including OR tables, stirrups, battery-operated equipment, and positioning aids

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of surgical technologist experience, with demonstrated CVOR scrub experience required
• Required CVOR case experience: Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm Repair, Carotid Endarterectomy, Coronary Artery Bypass Graft, Mitral Valve Replacement, and Pericardial Window
• Required surgical experience: General, Endoscopic/Laparoscopic, and Thoracic
• Active WV or Compact OR Tech License (pending license accepted for submission; active license required prior to start)
• National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification required
• Current BLS certification (American Heart Association preferred)
• Flu vaccine required during flu season (October 1 – March 31); medical exemption with documented allergist or physician record accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Preferred CVOR experience: Atherectomy, Atrial Septal Defect Repair, Cardiomyoplasty, Femoral Popliteal Bypass Graft, Robotic Assisted Cardiac Surgery, TAVR, and VAD
• Preferred surgical experience: Vascular, Urology, and Orthopedics/Total Joints
• Proficiency with Cerner and Accudose charting systems
