Key Responsibilities

• Field patient calls and messages related to cancer diagnosis, treatment, medications, chemotherapy side effects, and lab and radiology results
• Manage patient schedules, referrals, and orders as directed by the provider
• Administer and monitor oral chemotherapy, biotherapy, and IV infusions including port access and central line care
• Recognize and manage oncologic emergencies including anaphylaxis, extravasation injury, hemorrhage, sepsis, and spinal cord compression
• Provide psychosocial support including patient and family education, advanced directives counseling, and hospice care coordination
• Monitor and manage symptom presentation including nausea, neuropathy, altered mental status, and skin and mucous membrane changes

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of outpatient oncology nursing experience required
• Prior travel nursing experience required; first-time travelers will not be accepted
• Active RN licensure in NC or a Compact state
• BLS certification required
• Chemotherapy certification required (ONS/ONCC)
• Proficiency in EPIC electronic health records required

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in an infusion center or inpatient oncology setting; experience administering interferons and interleukins
• Skills in chemotherapy administration, cytotoxic spill management, and body fluid handling post-chemotherapy
• IV therapy skills including PICC line care, blood and blood product administration, antifungals, antivirals, and infusion pump management
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) certification preferred
