Key Responsibilities
- Float between Med/Surg, Rehabilitation, and Geriatric Psychiatry units as needed, delivering professional nursing care and carrying out provider orders
- Provide comprehensive clinical documentation including care plans each shift and communicate patient information through bedside shift report, multidisciplinary rounds, and hourly rounding (AIDET)
- Monitor and maintain awareness of unit-based nurse-sensitive indicators such as CAUTI, CLABSI, CDIFF, HAPU, Falls, Hand Hygiene, and VAE
- Participate in daily unit-based safety huddles, quality initiatives, and performance improvement efforts to enhance patient outcomes
- Effectively delegate aspects of care to other nursing personnel and collaborate in planning, supervising, and instructing nurses and assistants
- Complete dysrhythmia course prior to completion of orientation (required for all telemetry-based departments)
Required Qualifications
- Current New Hampshire RN license required
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
- Must be willing and able to float to Med/Surg, Rehabilitation, and Geriatric Psychiatry units
- Ability to maintain current nursing licensure and all department-required certifications throughout the assignment
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Graduate of an approved Nursing program
- Basic Dysrhythmia certification preferred or willingness to obtain prior to completion of orientation
- Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or willingness to obtain prior to completion of orientation
- Experience serving as a preceptor for new nurses and participating in peer feedback and shared governance processes
