Contract | 13 Weeks | Mid Shift (3:00 PM – 3:00 AM) | 36 hours per week guaranteed | Every other weekend required | Holidays as required | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department treating patients of all age groups across a 54-bed, state-designated Level III Trauma Center and Level II Stroke Center
• Maintain nurse-to-patient ratios ranging from 1:1 for critical and trauma patients to 1:3–4 for all other patients
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians, nurse practitioners, and support staff to deliver comprehensive emergency medical services
• Document and manage patient care using the facility's EMR system (Meditech)
• Maintain all required certifications and adhere to facility protocols, including TNCC and SECURE on-site requirements
• Float to other units and hospital locations as needed

Required Qualifications

• Associate degree in Nursing (ADN) or higher
• Active Registered Nurse license in the State of Alabama or valid Compact license — no temporary licenses accepted
• NURSYS verification required
• AHA ACLS certification required
• AHA BLS certification required
• AHA PALS or Red Cross equivalent certification required
• NIH Stroke Scale certification required
• TNCC certification required
• SECURE on-site certification required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in Emergency Room nursing (18 months may be considered if working under the highest level of professional license with 2 years of recent specialty experience)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a high-volume or Level III Trauma Center emergency department setting
• Familiarity with Meditech EMR
• Demonstrated ability to manage a diverse patient population across all age groups
• Flexibility and experience floating across multiple units or hospital settings
