Contract | Onsite | Mid Shift (1500–0330) | Rotating Schedule including every other weekend and holidays | No on-call required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a busy community Emergency Department serving adult and pediatric populations, neonate through geriatric
• Manage patient assignments at variable nurse-to-patient ratios (1:5 or higher based on census); must be comfortable working in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
• Independently start IVs, perform EKGs, administer respiratory treatments, and manage drips prepared by pharmacy
• Care for a diverse patient mix including boarded patients, psychiatric patients, and critical care patients pending ICU transfer
• Maintain accurate documentation using Epic EMR (experience within the past 2 years required and non-negotiable)
• Adhere to strict unit policies including a zero-tolerance policy for cell phone or earbud use while on duty

Required Qualifications

• Active New York RN license, or documented proof of application with applied date, required at time of submission
• Minimum 1 year of Emergency Room clinical experience
• AHA BLS, AHA ACLS, AHA PALS, NIHSS, and TNCC all required; TNCC must be active or proof of enrollment prior to start; NIHSS must be completed prior to start date
• Epic EMR experience within the past 2 years — required and non-negotiable
• Must be available for a rotating schedule including every other weekend minimum and holiday coverage
• Reliable personal or rental transportation required; public transportation is not accessible in this area — vehicles should be equipped with all-season or snow tires November through April

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Charge nurse experience preferred
• Experience working in high-volume community ED settings with variable nurse-to-patient ratios above 1:4
• Familiarity with Pyxis medication system and Philips MP40 monitoring equipment
