Key Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care for medically complex hematology and oncology patients, including administration of blood products, antibiotics, and management of symptoms and treatment side effects
• Perform comprehensive head-to-toe patient assessments and administer medications accurately and safely
• Communicate effectively with the interdisciplinary team and provide updates to patients and families
• If trained and credentialed, may be assigned to administer chemotherapy to applicable patients
• Utilize unit equipment including EPIC, Philips Care Monitors, glucometers, bladder scanners, language line, and Zebra phones
• Float to other medical-surgical units within the Fargo area as needed

Required Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent nursing experience in a large hospital setting (250+ beds)
• Experience in a busy Level 1 Trauma Center
• Active BLS certification – American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Active North Dakota RN license or compact state license (or willingness to obtain)
• Proficiency with EPIC electronic health records
• Willingness to float to all medical-surgical units and locations within the Fargo area as needed
• Must live more than 60 miles from the facility to be eligible; candidates living between 60 and 80 miles may be subject to a local travel rate

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior travel nursing experience highly preferred
• Inpatient oncology experience strongly preferred
• Experience in hematology and/or bone marrow transplant (BMT) is a bonus
