Contract | 13 Weeks | Full-Time | Night Shift (7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provides routine and complex nursing care utilizing the nursing process — including assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation — for assigned patients in a Telemetry/IMC MedSurg setting.
• Addresses complex psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs of patients and families in accordance with scope of practice.
• Administers medications and treatments per appropriate protocol; monitors for side effects and effectiveness of prescribed treatments.
• Documents patient history, symptoms, medications, and care provided accurately and in a timely manner.
• Assesses learning needs and provides education to patients, family members, and/or caregivers; identifies issues and available resources.
• Makes appropriate assignments and delegates to other care providers as needed to effectively manage clinical situations.

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Texas or a valid compact nursing license
• BLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• ACLS certification required (American Heart Association only)
• Minimum of 1 year of experience in a Telemetry or related nursing specialty
• Must complete new hire orientation and designated organizational entry competency validation within the first 30 days

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)
• Experience in an IMC or MedSurg/Telemetry unit
• Familiarity with competency validation programs and preceptorship models
