Key Responsibilities

• Perform admission and ongoing patient assessments, developing and modifying individualized nursing plans of care based on patient needs and data collection
• Implement physician orders, provide patient education, and conduct discharge teaching utilizing the teach-back process
• Advocate for patients and families to support positive care outcomes, ensuring effective communication with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary healthcare team
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient responses to interventions, therapeutic regimens, and progress relative to the plan of care
• Ensure patient safety through compliance with hospital policies, Joint Commission Patient Safety Goals, Universal Protocol, and HIPAA requirements
• Provide guidance and support to team members; may serve as a resource or preceptor to new staff and fulfill charge nurse responsibilities as assigned

Required Qualifications

• Active Massachusetts Registered Nurse (RN) license
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
• Demonstrated professional conduct including positive attitude, compassionate care, and active listening skills
• Ability to practice within the scope of the Nurse Practice Act and apply evidence-based practice and critical thinking skills

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in an inpatient psychiatric setting
• Experience with charge nurse responsibilities, including staff assignment based on acuity and patient flow
• Familiarity with quality improvement initiatives and departmental staff meeting participation
