Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Nights | 4x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:00) | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including care across specialized pediatric units
• Deliver care to neonatal and pediatric intensive care patients requiring advanced respiratory support
• Perform respiratory and neuro diagnostic procedures within scope of practice
• Float within scope of practice to other units as needed
• Participate in self-scheduling model; scheduling preferences will be considered but cannot be guaranteed
• Complete up to 16 non-billable orientation hours, including specialty-specific modules recorded in Workday

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Active Virginia state license required; pending license accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained before the Wednesday prior to start date — an active license in another state is required to be eligible for a temporary Virginia license
• Minimum Level 4 NICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Maximum of 40 hours of requested time off per 13-week contract; all RTO must be disclosed at time of submission
• Any pre-start vacation between sign date and start date must be disclosed upfront
• Nursys verification required at submission
• References required at submission
• Travelers may not exceed 365 total assignment days; candidates who have previously reached this threshold are not eligible to return

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
• Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
