Respiratory Therapist – Respiratory / Neuro Diagnostics

Schedule / Job Type

Contract (13 or 26 weeks) | Days, 4x12-Hour Shifts (7:00–19:00) | Onsite | Expected 36 or 48 hours/week | Every other weekend, every other holiday; must work 2 of 3 winter holidays

Key Responsibilities

• Provide respiratory therapy services within a children's hospital setting, including care across specialized units
• Deliver care to NICU patients requiring Level 4 NICU level support
• Support neuro diagnostics functions as assigned within scope of practice
• Float within scope of practice to other units as operationally needed
• Participate in a self-scheduling model with flexibility to accommodate unit needs, including weekend and holiday coverage

Required Qualifications

• Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) certification required
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Active Virginia Respiratory Therapist license required; pending license accepted provided a temporary license can be obtained before start date — candidate must hold a license in another state to be eligible for a temporary Virginia license
• Minimum Level 4 NICU experience required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Must live more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible (locals are not accepted for this unit)

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Adult Critical Care Specialist (ACCS) certification preferred
• Cardiac PICU experience preferred
