Key Responsibilities
- Provide direct nursing care for obstetric patients across labor & delivery, postpartum, and recovery settings
- Monitor and assess patients throughout the labor and delivery process, ensuring safe outcomes for mother and newborn
- Deliver postpartum care and education to patients and families following delivery
- Float to the med-surg floor as needed when obstetric census is low
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary care teams to coordinate patient care plans
Required Qualifications
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Iowa or compact state eligibility
- Experience in obstetrics, including labor & delivery, postpartum, and/or recovery
- Ability to float to med-surg and provide competent general nursing care
- Current BLS certification
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in a combined OB and med-surg float role
- NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program) certification
- Familiarity with rural or critical access hospital environments
