Contract | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every other weekend required

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in a high-volume Emergency Department with up to 101 beds and patient ratios of 4:1 (medical) and up to 7:1 on behavioral holds
• Utilize Cerner for clinical documentation throughout each patient encounter
• Operate Baxter pumps and GE monitors in accordance with unit protocols
• Demonstrate patient experience standards including AIDET, respectful behavior, and keeping patient boards updated with current information
• Float within all sections of the Emergency Department as needed; no floating outside of the ED
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including techs, cardiac monitoring unit staff, triage personnel, and unit clerks across day and night shifts

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license in good standing
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience with at least 1 year in an Emergency Room setting
• ACLS required prior to start date
• BLS required prior to start date
• PALS required prior to start date
• TNCC required prior to start date
• CPI required prior to start date
• NIHSS required prior to start date
• ENPC required within 90 days of hire
• Ability to wear navy scrubs per unit dress code requirements
• Flexibility to work all areas of the ED; scheduling must meet the needs of the department — block scheduling is not available

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a Level II trauma center and/or comprehensive stroke center
• Background in a high-volume ED (greater than 100,000 annual visits)
• Previous experience with HCA-affiliated facilities
• Demonstrated ability to coach peers and provide real-time feedback in a fast-paced environment
